1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. The next time you visit, the browser sends the cookie back so the site can recognise the device. Browsers also expose localStorage and sessionStorage, which serve a similar purpose without an HTTP cookie header. We treat all three as "cookies" in this policy because the privacy implications are the same.
2. Cookie categories
We organise the cookies above into four categories. The cookie banner lets you accept or reject each non-essential category — Essential cannot be turned off without breaking the Service.
- Necessary — sign-in, session security, anti-abuse. The Service does not work without these.
- Preferences — your language, theme, and layout choices. Optional but improves usability.
- Analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage statistics. None active today; reserved for future use.
- Marketing — none. We do not run advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site trackers and we do not plan to.
3. Managing cookies
You can change your preferences at any time:
- In ClawEX — clear the
clawex-cookie-consententry in your browser DevTools (Application → Local Storage), then refresh; the banner reappears. - In your browser — most browsers let you block cookies entirely or per-site. Doing so for ClawEX may sign you out and disable language persistence. Browser docs: Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge.
- Do Not Track — we honour the DNT browser signal as an additional opt-out for the Analytics and Marketing categories.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) — we honour GPC where supported.
4. Third-party cookies
Two of the cookies in the inventory above come from third parties:
- Cloudflare — bot management and DDoS protection. Cloudflare cookie policy.
- PayPal — set during checkout and only on the PayPal-hosted checkout flow. PayPal cookie statement.
- We do not load any third-party advertising or analytics scripts as of the effective date of this policy. If we add any in the future, we will update this inventory and re-prompt you for consent (see §5 below).
5. Consent and re-prompts
Your choices are recorded in clawex-cookie-consent with a version number. When we change the cookie inventory or category set in a way that materially affects your consent, we bump the version, your old choice is invalidated, and the banner re-prompts on your next visit.
6. Changes to this policy
We will revise this policy when we add, remove, or repurpose a cookie. Material changes (new third party, new category, weakened user choice) trigger a banner re-prompt. Non-material changes (typos, clarifications, formatting) take effect on publication.
